Beer and Ice Cream Diet

This make a whole lot of sense to me.

Beer and Ice Cream Diet

As we all know, it takes 1 calorie to heat 1 gram of water 1 degree centigrade. Translated into meaningful terms, this means that if you eat a very cold dessert (generally consisting of water in large part), the natural processes which raise the consumed dessert to body temperature during the digestive cycle literally sucks the calories out of the only available source, your body fat.

For example, a dessert served and eaten at near 0 degrees C (32.2 deg. F) will in a short time be raised to the normal body temperature of 37 degrees C (98.6 deg. F). For each gram of dessert eaten, that process takes approximately 37 calories as stated above. The average dessert portion is 6 oz, or 168 grams. Therefore, by operation of thermodynamic law, 6,216 calories (1 cal./gm/deg. x 37 deg. x 168 gms) are extracted from body fat as the dessert's temperature is normalized. Allowing for the 1,200 latent calories in the dessert, the net calorie loss is approximately 5,000 calories.

Obviously, the more cold dessert you eat,the better off you are and the faster you will lose weight, if that is your goal. This process works equally well when drinking very cold beer in frosted glasses. Each ounce of beer contains 16 latent calories, but extracts 1,036 calories (6,216 cal. per 6 oz. portion) in the temperature normalizing process. Thus the net calorie loss per ounce of beer is 1,020 calories. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to calculate that 12,240 calories (12 oz. x 1,020 cal./oz.) are extracted from the body in the process of drinking a can of beer.

Frozen desserts, e.g., ice cream, are even more beneficial, since it takes 83 cal./gm to melt them (i.e., raise them to 0 deg. C) and an additional 37 cal./gm to further raise them to body temperature. The results here are really remarkable, and it beats running hands down.

Unfortunately, for those who eat pizza as an excuse to drink beer, pizza (loaded with latent calories and served above body temperature) induces an opposite effect. But, thankfully, as the astute reader should have already reasoned, the obvious solution is to drink a lot of beer with pizza and follow up immediately with large bowls of ice cream. We could all be thin if we were to adhere religiously to a pizza, beer, and ice cream diet.

Happy eating!

A Picture Worth A Thousand Words

I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has ever tried this before, taking a picture and replacing the shadows with words.  It looks pretty sick and I really want to give it a try, but I thought I'd ask around first.

BMW Motorcycle Concept

I doubt that this concept will come to fruition any time soon, but it looks sick. In fact, it looks almost to cool to be a BMW. I think BMWs have a certain simplicity to their styling that this one lacks. However, I am a big fan of BMW motorcycles, and I most certainly would not be disappointed if they chose to ship this concept.

Black History Month

I just saw this on the Tosh.o blog.

This Looks Inappropriate

Posted by: Mike Pomranz

That's a suspiciously good price for Kool-Aid.  So, come on, someone could have just moved that sign there.

But I don't want to be racist about it.  It could have been a black guy.

What is Wal-Mart thinking???

This story was published on the 9th, but I just found out about it thanks to a tweet from @ebertchicago that was retweeted by @RayWJ.  Take a look at it and tell me what you think.  I believe that Wal-Mart has made a big mistake.

Instantly, Shawn Ray and Justin Richins kicked into gear, spinning the gunman around. Lori Poulsen ripped the gun away and secured it. They all held on to the man until police arrived minutes later.

The four Layton Walmart employees felt it was mission accomplished. Police officers told them they had done everything right.

But a week later, all four were fired from their jobs. Walmart said their actions had  violated company policy and put their fellow workers and shoppers at risk.

Thatched Houses

To be honest, I can't figure out why this never caught on in the Americas.  I think the thatched houses have a sort of old world look to them that looks a lot better than the cookie cutter houses of the suburbs here.

The Skin Gun

Ever wonder what a burn victim looks like, or how they're treated.  If you can stomach it, you should watch this video.  It's pretty interesting if you can get past the disgusting, vomit-inducing pictures of burnt skin.  Leave a comment and tell me if you made it through the video.  If you did make it, tell me what you thought of it.

What a Wonderful Discovery: Tastefully Offensive

This website is full of little hilarious gems.  This one doesn't quite match the genius that is My Life Is Bro, but it's called Tastefully Offensive, and it's pretty decent.  You should go visit it, but in the mean time, you should check out a few of my favorites.

Pirates of the Caribbean 4?

I didn't realize that they were making a fourth, but it seems as though they really are.  It's called Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and it comes to theaters on May 20.  Unfortunately, it seems as though neither Keira Nightley or Orlando Bloom will be in it.  That might be a movie ruiner, but I still can't wait to see it!

A Supercar From Denmark???

Oh snap! It’s a Danish super car. Somehow those words don’t go together in my head. When I think super car, I think Japan, America, Italy, Germany, maybe even France and England – but Denmark? It’s true, the Zenvo ST1 is a real Danish supercar with excessive power; a V8 1,104 pony galloping engine to be exact. The turbocharged 7.0 liter 6 speed manual tranny pushes the Zenvo ST1 from 0-60 in just 3 seconds. For safety and legal reasons, the car is electronically limited to 232 mph.

Yes, it's a massive waste of time, but it's pretty fun. You probably shouldn't check it out if you need to be doing something.

Book Review: The Book Thief

The book is pretty damn good considering that it is Holocaust fiction. I would much rather read this book than Anne Frank any day. My teacher warned us that it would be a pretty easy read because it's young adult fiction, which is a fancy way of saying that it's written for thirteen year olds. However, I didn't feel like it was beneath me at all. You should probably read the book. You won't be disappointed.
